The CardioMEMS™ HF System is indicated for patients with:

  • NYHA Class II or Class III heart failure; and
  • One heart failure hospitalization in the past 12 months; and/or
  • Have elevated natriuretic peptides

The CardioMEMS HF System is contraindicated for patients with:

  • An inability to take dual antiplatelet or anticoagulants for one-month post implant

What NYHA Class of Heart Failure does the patient have?

NYHA Classes of Heart Failure

Class I: No symptoms of heart failure, and no limitations on physical activity

Class II: Symptoms of heart failure with moderate exertion, such as walking two blocks or up two flights of stairs

Class III: Symptoms of heart failure with minimal exertion, such as walking one block or up one flight of stairs, but no symptoms at rest

Class IV: Inability to carry on any physical activity without discomfort, and symptoms of congestive heart failure even at rest

 
 

Has the patient had at least one HF hospitalization in the past 12 months?

 
 

Do you know the patient's BNP or NT-proBNP level?
